Our nephew loves going to the movies, so I thought this year I would make him a movie/popcorn themed gift. I got a popcorn bucket to put everything in, got movie type snacks and popcorn seasoning, sent Chris out for a theatre gift card and then I went into Design Space and made up a T-shirt that sort of looks like the popcorn bucket design to go with it.
I loaded everything into the basket..
And then wrapped it up ready to go!!! Phew! Another gift ready to go!
I’m sorry I have been missing in action. I thought I started so early and couldn’t figure out why I was running so far behind… then I remembered… the Craft Sale!!!
Now I am rushing around like a chicken with it’s head cut off trying to finish everything 😢!!!
I started these hats a few weeks ago. I’m not sure what possessed me to start a new project that close to Christmas… but I did lol.
I worked the hats in a crochet ribbing sort of stitch, in a chunky baby blanket yarn. I did one row single crochet, the next single crochet in the back loop only and repeated these rows to desired length.
I worked Kim’s hat over 22 single crochet to a length of 19 inches before sewing it into a tube, gathering the top and sewing on the nice fur pompom.
I worked my granddaughter’s over 16 single crochet and to a length of 16 inches and finishing the same way.
They will be a warm, cute mother daughter Christmas gift!!!
This is another one of those cute gifts I saw on that terrible day shredding website Pinterest lol.
With my not so new toy, my Cricut, the ideas I can find there, and the many other free sites, I don’t think I’ll ever run out of gift ideas for ANYONE!
For this gift I decided to do the “Bear Family” images on white t-shirts and pairing them with cozy Pajama pants to make a nice family gift for Kim, Codey and Scarlyt, my beautiful little granddaughter!
I cut the images all out of black heat transfer vinyl and then ironed them on to the t-shirts, paired them with the Pajama pants and wrapped each set with ribbon!
Now they are all wrapped up under the tree ready for Christmas day!
These socks with the Sayings on they are EVERYWHERE! I thought, why not jump on the bandwagon and make some for everyone for Christmas lol.
I made some that I thought appropriate for everyone and cut Heat Transfer Vinyl.
This was another one of those I hope it works projects, because you really have to wonder sometimes if something can really work as well as people say at so many different things. Lets just say that again, I was very pleasantly surprised.
Heat Transfer Vinyl “weeds” so well. It doesn’t have the tendency to rip as regular vinyl can at times if you aren’t careful. It pulls off around the designs perfectly. That wasn’t the part I was worried about.
I don’t know about you, but I can’t say I have ever ironed socks. I wasn’t sure how the vinyl would adhere to the socks or if my little iron would actually burn/melt the socks lol! Apparent it won’t.
The vinyl adhered perfectly! All I had to do was design what I wanted on the socks, cut the HTV, lay it out on the soles of the socks and iron it on. It was SO easy and I was SO impressed yet again!
For Chris I did “We Interrupt This Marriage for Hockey Season” with a Blue Maple Leaf on them
For Dillon I did “All I Got For Christmas Are Crappy Socks” with the Poop Emoji on them
For Codey (my son-in-law) I did “If You Can Read This I’m Busy” with a game controller on them
And for Kim I did Labour Socks lol, They say “I Can Not Keep Calm I’m Having A Baby” with little Baby Feet on them!
I WISH I had seen something like this when Kim was pregnant with my first Grandbaby! I think it is so cute and would make such a cool keepsake of a pregnancy. Once I saw it I had to make it!
Surprisingly enough, there is actually “pregnant woman” images in Design Space so I was actually able to make my own ornament within the program.
I knew what I wanted it to look like based on some of the other ones I had seen done so all I had to do was get in there and design it, cut it and stick it on the ornament lol!
Here is how the design looked in Design Space what I had what I wanted.
I cut the vinyl and then waited for the paint to dry on the inside of the ornament. All of the ornaments I bought were clear so that I could make them how I wanted them, which meant painting the insides to match whatever I was doing…. this one being white.
I adhered the vinyl to the ornament once the paint dried inside and that part was done.
As with the Christmas Story ornaments, it still needs a bow once I get to the dollar store and a hanger, but the ornament itself is done.
This is going to be a special Mother to Daughter gift from me to Kim this Christmas!
Yes, another one lol… I’m honestly starting to think that when I go down to my craft room that my Cricut is going to start hiding from me lol!
This project is my take on something else I saw. What I saw was a Christmas ornament done on a curved piece of wood. It was really cool. It looked to be about 4 or 5 inches long and maybe 3 or 4 inches wide and was just like I said curved wood in an oval shape. When I saw it I thought it would be really cool for my son-in-law. Then the wheels started to turn in the hamster wheel in my brain and the hamsters said…”Hey, what about a travel mug?” So, I took their advice and this is that project!
I do have to admit I was a little concerned when I started it. There was a lot of layering and the guitar strings looked like they would be hard to “weed” and get straight on the travel mug.
It went surprisingly easy! The Cricut cut the lines/strings perfectly and somehow I was able to take a dollar store travel mug, some wood grained vinyl, cut everything and even get the lines on fairly straight. I am pretty happy with how it turned out and when I sent a picture to Kim when it was done, I got and awesome so I will take that as a point in the win column and get it wrapped and ready for gifting!!!
I have to admit that until Chris and I started dating 16 + years ago, I hadn’t even heard of the movie “A Christmas Story.” It is a big thing in his family. We now watch it every Christmas Day as a tradition in our own little family as his family has always done. This being said, I try every year to make or find some sort of little gift with that movie as a theme to give.
One year it was a “Leg Lamp” night light, one year I went full on “Pink Bunny Suit” for my father-in-law lol… this year I am playing nice and I made him a set of ornaments with some of the more memorable sayings/memories from the movie.
If you have seen, or are another avid fan of the movie, you will understand the meaning behind all of the ornaments, if not maybe you can just appreciate the thought behind the gift lol!
Here are the ornaments based around the movie! I found “clipart” images doing an internet search, cleaned them up in Design space, resized them and then cut them using my Cricut.
I painted the inside of clear ornaments and then adhered the vinyl to them. Now all they need are another trip to the dollar store for some ribbon and a nice box!
These little reading pillows seem to be everywhere. With my granddaughter’s love of books, making her one of these for Christmas seemed like a perfect gift…. and gave me the chance to play on my sewing machine for a bit. After seeing how nice the “Once upon a Time” turned out I am thinking I should make her a little onesie to go with the pillow! (Sorry for the dark pictures…. I didn’t realize how dark they actually were until I just attached them to my post. I will have to retake and update later.)
I pretend to take credit for her love of reading lol…. that is my one (at least the one I readily admit to) addiction and the hardest thing I’ve had to let go of since my accident. For as far back as I can remember, I have never been without a book in hand, or Kindle now that they have almost replaced books…. although sometimes there is nothing better than the feel and smell of a book in your hands!
Are you sick of my Cricut projects yet lol? I know I’m not sick of “playing” with it yet lol!
These are just a couple of mugs I made this week for gifts.
The first one is a tribal wolf mug. Just a plain white mug with the tribal wolf done in black. The wolf is a free pattern I found on Pinterest, uploaded into Design space, resized and then cut and applied to my mug.
I thought the image was pretty cool and my father-in-law really likes wolves!
The second is me hopping on the Red Truck fad lol. While I do think is way overdone right now, I do like how the red truck looks with the bit of country flair to Christmas decor… so I had to make at least one “Red Truck” project.
I found the red truck design in Design Space and then just added text, again finding the font in Design Space.
I laid how I wanted it to look and adjusted the sizing in Design space and then cut the vinyl and layered it.
I only have one this to say about these mugs…. Holy Crapadoodle!!!!!
I bought 4 mugs thinking I might try to sell them on the local buy and sell site and that if they didn’t sell, they would make cute stocking stuffers. Well, they did sell…. and now I literally have people clambering for them lol!
All last night, and when I woke up this morning, I kept receiving messages about the mugs. After they first sold and I continued receiving messages about them, I changed my add to SOLD, but that I would try to get more mugs and make more and that if anyone wanted to be added to a list for mugs I would take their names and number of mugs. That list has gone crazy!!!! Not only does my listing for the mugs have 726 views, I have people on my “waiting” list (last total) wanting another 54 mugs!!!! While a little bit exciting, it is also a little bit daunting! Fingers crossed I can get more mugs lol!
To make the mugs…. I found some awesome green, sort of sparkly, mugs at the “Big” dollar store when we went to town on Friday. They just screamed Grinch to me so I bought 4 of them…. boy do I wish I had the foresight to buy all of them lol!
I found a free Grinch Face pattern and downloaded it to use with my Cricut.
This is what the pattern looked like in Design Space.
I cut out the vinyl.
Added the yellow for the eyes.
And then adhered it to the mugs… and then all the craziness started to happen lol!!!!
