Mars Rice Krispy Squares

I found an awesome sounding  Rice Krispy square recipe at that I just had to try. Thank you to Our Eating Habits for this recipe idea!

While I didn’t follow it exactly it still turned out great with comments from anyone that tried them.

I changed the recipe to suit what I had and how I wanted to do the cooking part of the recipe so I could make them in the microwave and they still turned out perfect!

Here are the ingredients I used to make the squares.

First I chopped up the Mars bars and put them in a large microwave safe bowl.

I added the first amount of butter/margarine and 1 cup of chocolate chips.

I microwaved it on high heat for about 90 seconds until melted and it could be stirred smooth.

I added the rice Krispy cereal and stirred until the cereal was fully coated, then pressed it into my prepared baking pan (I used a 6 x 10 pan)

Next I put the second amounts of butter/ margarine into a microwave safe bowl and microwaved it on high until melted and smooth, about 60 seconds.

I spread this chocolate mixture over the top of the rice Krispy squares in the pan and put it in the fridge to chill until the chocolate was set before cutting into squares.
