Here is Saturday’s contribution to the Quick and Easy Crochet series we have been doing.
I was at a loss as to what to make next and then thought about the sock monkey mug cozy I made for someone for Christmas a few years ago. I remembered it was really quick and easy to make so it fit in perfectly!
I had a bunch of scraps from some other things I made and it worked out perfectly for this project! I made another one yesterday!
I think I will give this one to Dillon because Orange is his favourite colour, for whatever reason!

Sock Monkey Mug Cozy
MAIN COLOUR STRIPE
Chain 27
Round 1: HDC in second ch from hook, hdc to end of row, ch 2, turn
Rounds 2 – 6: HDC in 2nd ch from hook, HDC to end of row, ch 2, turn
Fasten off
WHITE STRIPE
Round 1: Sl st into first HDC, HDC in same st, hdc to end of row. ch 2, turn
Rounds 2 & 3: HDC in 1st st from previous row, HDC to end of row, ch 2, turn
fasten off
ORANGE STRIPE
Round 1: Sl st into first HDC, HDC in same st, hdc to end of row. ch 4, turn
Round 2: HDC in 1st st from previous row, HDC to end of row (this will be a buttonhole)
fasten off
EARS
ch 2, 8 sc in 2nd ch from hook. do not join. ch 1 and turn.
2 sc in each st. fasten off
MOUTH
ch 9
sc in 2nd st from hook, sc to last st. 5 sc in last st, do not ch or turn. continue sc in bottom of ch row to last st, 4 sc in that st, join to first sc. fasten of.
FINISHING
Weave in all of ends
Sew bottom 1/2 inch of main colour together, fasten off
Sew on mouth and ears, weave in ends
Backstitch black line on mouth
Sew 2 buttons on for eyes and 1 for the fastener at back of cozy
